Chianti Classico takes centre stage in Poggibonsi
For Fuori Wine & Siena 2026, the Alcide Gourmet Club dedicated an entire evening to Chianti Classico and the finest products of the Tuscan territory. A tasting dinner where every dish was conceived in dialogue with one of the denomination's most representative wines, from Carpineto.
On the table, the most distinctive face of Tuscany: Finocchiona IGP and Tuscan prosciutto DOP from the Renieri curing house, pecorino from Caseificio Nuovo, Chianina beef, Cinta Senese pork and EVO oil from Frantoio Pruneti. A journey that is simultaneously a wine tasting and a gastronomic voyage through the great producers of the region.
How the evening unfolds
The tasting antipasti immediately tell the story of the territory: spinach flan with pecorino fondue, Tuscan bread IGP crostino with chicken livers and Chianti Classico reduction, Finocchiona IGP and Tuscan prosciutto DOP with unsalted bread and EVO oil from Frantoio Pruneti, paired with Carpineto brut Spumante.
The first course is pappardelle with white Chianina ragù scented with rosemary and black kale crisps, paired with Carpineto Chianti Classico DOCG 2023. The main is a Cinta Senese roast in Chianti with Camporbiano oven-baked potatoes and Podere Pereto cannellini beans, paired with Carpineto Chianti Classico Riserva 2020, ranked 25th among the world's 100 most exciting wines by Wine Spectator.
Dessert closes with a soft ricotta and pear tart with Vin Santo sauce and Tuscan cantuccini crumble IGP, accompanied by Farnito Vinsanto del Chianti DOC 2006.
